{"slug":"terms","version":"v1","effectiveDate":"2026-10-12T22:00:00.000Z","draft":false,"title":"Kortyx Website Terms of Use","sections":[{"title":"1. Operator, website and scope","text":"1.1 The Kortyx website provides information about Kortyx software and hosted services, Documentation, examples, community resources and legal documents. It is operated by Kortyx (“we” or “us”). See also the [Legal Notice](https://kortyx.io/legal/v1).\n\n1.2 These terms describe permitted use of the website and the treatment of its materials. Hosted Cloud is governed by its separately accepted [Cloud Terms](https://kortyx.io/cloud/terms/v1) and applicable [DPA](https://kortyx.io/cloud/dpa/v1). The SDK, self-hosted Studio and other distributed software are governed by the licenses supplied with them. References to a product here do not change those licenses.\n\n1.3 Browsing a legal page, following a documentation link or using site navigation does not constitute acceptance of Cloud Terms, a marketing subscription or optional tracking permission. If a website function requires a separate agreement, it must identify that requirement and present the relevant terms through an appropriate process.\n\n1.4 These terms identify permissions and restrictions applicable to site materials. Any additional contractual obligation requiring agreement will be presented for affirmative acceptance with the relevant function. Merely browsing does not establish acceptance of an undisclosed obligation."},{"title":"2. Access and intended use","text":"2.1 You may access publicly available pages and use their information for learning about the products, evaluating their suitability and following the relevant Documentation. Access to public material does not grant access to private accounts, systems, unreleased software or confidential records.\n\n2.2 You are responsible for your device, connection and the decisions you make when applying examples. Where a tutorial assumes particular dependencies, permissions or software versions, review those requirements before executing commands or connecting real systems. A demonstration may omit production-specific configuration that your deployment requires.\n\n2.3 Cloud account eligibility requirements apply when creating or using a Cloud account. They are not an automatic age-verification requirement for every public documentation visit. The website's privacy and storage practices are described separately and must reflect the actual visitor-facing functions."},{"title":"3. Copyright, Documentation and software licenses","text":"3.1 Rights in website text, layout, images, trademarks and other materials belong to Kortyx or the relevant rights holders, except to the extent a material is in the public domain or subject to another expressly identified license. No ownership of third-party material is claimed merely because it is linked or displayed.\n\n3.2 The applicable software license governs the rights to use, copy, modify and redistribute each software component or licensed example. These terms do not withdraw rights granted by that license or impose a hosted-service requirement on an independently licensed self-hosted deployment.\n\n3.3 The public repository identifies framework packages, API, CLI, examples, website and repository tooling as Apache-2.0, subject to directory-specific licenses and third-party notices. Studio’s interface is distributed under Elastic License 2.0; individual plugins use their included licenses. Consult the license accompanying the particular version or file. Apache-2.0 does not grant general rights to Kortyx trademarks, and third-party images or assets remain subject to their own notices. These terms do not narrow a permission already granted by an applicable license.\n\n3.4 You may save copies of applicable legal documents to retain evidence of the terms or disclosures provided to you. A saved copy does not confer rights to present the text as another business's approved agreement or alter the authoritative version. Historical document links should continue to identify their original text and effective period.\n\n3.5 Copyright notices and source attribution supplied with licensed materials must be retained to the extent the license requires. Statutory quotation, interoperability and other non-waivable rights are unaffected."},{"title":"4. Brand names and links","text":"4.1 The Kortyx name and marks identify the relevant products and operator. You must not use them in a way that misrepresents sponsorship, endorsement, origin or an official relationship. References that are lawful and accurately identify compatible software or discuss Kortyx are not prohibited merely because they name the product.\n\n4.2 A link to the public website must not falsely imply that we endorse the linking site or its activities. Do not misrepresent an altered screenshot or modified document as an official current Kortyx publication. Where the product name or Documentation is used under a particular license or brand permission, that permission controls its scope.\n\n4.3 The Cloud customer-publicity clause applies only through the relevant organization agreement. Reading these website terms does not authorize us to use an individual visitor's name, employer or logo for publicity."},{"title":"5. Responsible use and security reports","text":"5.1 You must not attempt unauthorized access, bypass access controls, introduce malicious code, disrupt availability, interfere with other visitors or use the site to infringe others' rights. Automated activity must respect applicable law and reasonable technical protections; a public page is not authorization to probe private systems.\n\n5.2 Do not publish credentials, private keys, authentication codes, personal data or confidential application content in public issues or discussions. If you need to report a suspected vulnerability, use security@kortyx.io. The existence of that address does not create permission for intrusive testing or guarantee a bounty.\n\n5.3 We may use proportionate protective measures to address harmful or unlawful activity and maintain the site. Such measures must be distinguished from changes to a customer's Cloud contract, account access or data-retrieval rights."},{"title":"6. Community platforms and external resources","text":"6.1 Links to GitHub or other external resources are provided for the purposes described with the link. The external platform operates under its own terms and privacy practices. Opening or posting to it may disclose information to that platform and, for public posts, to other users.\n\n6.2 A link is not a guarantee that external content is accurate, current, available or suitable for your circumstances. We do not operate a third-party service merely by linking to it. This does not excuse our own misleading descriptions or other responsibilities that law assigns to us.\n\n6.3 Contributions to Kortyx repositories are subject to their applicable licenses and the [Kortyx Contributor License Agreement](https://github.com/kortyx-io/kortyx/blob/main/CLA.md), where required by the contribution process. The CLA addresses copyright and patent permissions, including commercial use and relicensing; it does not transfer all ownership merely because someone posts a comment. Ordinary feedback is distinct from an authored contribution. Private legal and privacy requests should use the private channel."},{"title":"7. Accuracy, versions and availability","text":"7.1 Documentation and examples may change as products develop. Check the software version and publication context of the material you use. Historical legal documents are retained for evidential purposes and must not be mistaken for the version newly offered for acceptance.\n\n7.2 We seek to provide useful, accurate information, but do not promise that every page is always complete, error-free or available. Report a material error through the appropriate channel so it can be assessed. Corrections to current Documentation must not silently rewrite historical accepted legal text.\n\n7.3 Descriptions of a roadmap, example or experimental feature do not create an additional contractual uptime SLA or an assurance that an unannounced capability is available. Conversely, this clause does not negate a binding statement, statutory representation or express service commitment where applicable law gives it effect.\n\n7.4 We may maintain, reorganize or discontinue website pages. Permanent legal-version links require preservation under the document-publication process. Cloud service discontinuation, support and customer-data export are governed by the Cloud agreement and applicable law, rather than a general website-maintenance clause."},{"title":"8. Privacy, analytics and communications","text":"8.1 The [Website Privacy and Software Telemetry Notice](https://kortyx.io/privacy/v1) explains processing connected with the site and telemetry received from distributed software. The [Cookies and Storage Notice](https://kortyx.io/cookies/v1) addresses actual browser-storage mechanisms and choices.\n\n8.2 Optional analytics and promotional subscriptions require their own appropriate disclosures and choices. Neither a website visit nor a download is a blanket instruction to subscribe you to advertising. Browser preferences must not be represented as controlling SDK telemetry unless that connection is actually implemented.\n\n8.3 Private contact details and required operator information must remain accessible independently of a visitor's decision about optional tracking. A free support model does not require disclosure of privacy or security concerns in public."},{"title":"9. Responsibility and legal protections","text":"9.1 You should test software examples and assess their suitability before relying on them in an application. We remain responsible for duties and representations that applicable law places on us. A visitor's responsibility for their own implementation does not excuse deliberate misstatements or other non-excludable liability.\n\n9.2 Website information and examples are supplied “as is” and “as available”, without an additional warranty of completeness, uninterrupted availability or suitability for a particular implementation. To the extent lawful in the applicable relationship, Kortyx disclaims implied warranties and responsibility for indirect business losses from reliance on website information. These statements do not override an applicable software license, binding representation, deliberate-wrongdoing responsibility, mandatory consumer remedy or other non-excludable obligation.\n\n9.3 Mandatory consumer, intellectual-property and data-protection rights remain unaffected. We do not require mandatory arbitration, a waiver of all collective remedies or surrender of regulator complaint rights through these terms."},{"title":"10. Changes, applicable law and contact","text":"10.1 We will identify the version and date of published website terms. Material changes must be communicated through an appropriate method for the relevant function; a footer update does not retrospectively establish agreement to a new obligation. Rights associated with already supplied licensed materials remain governed by their applicable licenses.\n\n10.2 Spanish law applies to the extent a valid governing-law choice can be made for the relevant relationship. Competent courts are determined by applicable jurisdiction rules. Consumers retain mandatory protections and the courts they are entitled to use; a website visit does not by itself create exclusive submission to a particular court.\n\n10.3 If a provision cannot lawfully apply, the remaining provisions operate only to the extent consistent with applicable law and their intended purpose. These website terms do not supersede a separately executed agreement or statutory right.\n\n10.4 Legal contact: legal@kortyx.io. Security contact: security@kortyx.io. Complete business and postal details: [Legal Notice](https://kortyx.io/legal/v1). Contacting us to resolve a problem is encouraged but is not a mandatory delay before protecting a legal right or meeting a deadline."}]}
